So... apparently the word cis is super problematic and makes some feminists uncomfortable. To which I reply, big fucking deal.
Sorry to be blunt, but as I understand the term, it just means someone who identifies with the outward gender of the body they were born with. And it's a scientific term, as in 'cis - on the same side' and 'trans - on the other side'. Which is not exactly lovely, but it's a terminology we can use to understand each other. What is the alternative? Trans man/woman vs man/woman? Clearly offensive. Normal man/woman? Even more offensive (and untrue). Birth man/woman? I don't have to spell out the problem with that do I?
Whatever your view, the fact remains that we have to talk to each other somehow and it's super useful to have words that we can use to describe each other without further alienating an already vulnerable group.
Ask yourself, is it really any skin off my nose? Can it help us communicate effectively? If so then I'm afraid we'll just have to get over it.

Re-set
In the almighty gap since my last post I've tried the calorie restrict thing, kind of hard to be honest. Didn't manage to keep it up. Also lost sight entirely of my spirituality. Whoops!
My husband and I have been trying to buy a house and it's taking forever. I kept thinking that I should wait until we've moved to be properly bardy/druidy as there are massive problems with trying to be spiritual in our current (rented) accommodation. Mainly that our neighbours are super-horrible and bang on the wall loads when we make noise. Just to put that into context, they consider blowing my nose to be too much noise. No, honestly, they complained to our letting agent about it.
However, I've decided that, as buying the new house is taking months, I shall reclaim my space in this house and neighbours be damned! Of course I won't try to intimidate them by making loads of noise, but if they bang on the wall I shall merely carry on with my day (or shout at. them if I fancy it). So I've taken a day off and am currently lazing in my room. I may have a wee nap, but then I'm all about reclaiming my spirit.
Exciting!!!
